It is not recommended to continue riding a motorcycle with a damaged inner tube. The exact time you can ride depends on the severity of the damage, but any damage significantly increases the risk of injury.
1. Minor Damage (e.g., small puncture, slow leak):
May last for a few kilometers to tens of kilometers, but tire pressure will continue to drop.
Risks: Reduced grip, worsened handling, especially prone to loss of control when cornering or on slippery surfaces.
Recommendations: Immediately reduce speed and ride a short distance at low speed to the nearest repair shop. Avoid high-speed or long-distance riding.
2. Moderate Damage (e.g., crack, localized bulge):
It is not recommended to ride more than 5–10 kilometers, and you must ride at low speed (not exceeding 30 km/h).
Risks: The bulge may suddenly burst, causing the vehicle to lose balance or even tip over, which is extremely dangerous, especially at high speeds.
Note: A bulge is a sign of a broken internal cord layer; even if there is no leak, the tire has lost its structural strength.
3. Severe damage (such as large tears, deep punctures, multiple repairs)
Absolutely do not ride on this tire. Stop immediately to replace the tire or have it towed for assistance.
Risk: Tire blowout is possible at any time, potentially causing a serious traffic accident.
